After Groningen, we stayed overnight in Amsterdam before going to Rome the next morning. It was not my first time in Amsterdam. But of course, the city has (too) many to offer one can only venture a small part of its beauty.
January 2016, we went to visit a friend in Groningen. He took us to Giethoorn, a village in the Netherlands that is known as the “Venice of the North”. Well, I guess the cloudy, cold and sometimes raining weather made the village… less lively. Giethoorn
When everyone had new years holiday, we decided to postpone and went for a short trip on late January 2016. First stop, Groningen.

The construction of Sagrada Família started in 1882 and infamous architect Antoni Gaudí became involved in 1883. Yet, the making of this grand cathedral still continues and is estimated to be finished around 2028.
The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926. Another brilliant work of art of Antoni Gaudi.
Saturday, 5 Sept 2015: Barcelona, free walking tour, train to Sitges, best friend’s wedding at Vilanova i la Geltru. Sunday, 6 Sept 2015: traditional spanish lunch with my friend’s family, off the Barcelona Monday, 7 Sept 2015: Parc Guell, Sagrada Familia, wandering Barcelona + beach. Tuesday, 8 Sept 2015: back to Denmark. Pack yet memorable….
Relax yourself and took a day tour from the capital to Segovia. Trust me. It is worth every second of your time.
